SPI Supplies™ Brand Microarray Slides

Introduction: Many biochemical and molecular biological procedures use specific interactions for the detection of individual molecules, like the sequence- specific hybridization of nucleic acids. Based on this principle, nucleic acid-microarrays allow the rapid and simultaneous analysis of thousands of genes for expression profiling, mapping, sequencing and polymorphism detection. Only high quality laser-cut and extremely low-fluorescent glass substrates are used for the SPI Supplies® Brand slides. The special cleaning and chemical coating procedures favor the generator of high-quality microarrays. The dimensions of all the SPI microarray slides are 75.6 mm x 25.0 mm x 1.0 mm thick.

The slides are available in two versions: Slides with an etched bar code vs. slides without the etched bar code. The bar code is etched right into the glass and becomes a permanent marking. The chemical reactive and homogeneous spotting area is shown for Type 1 and Type 2 slides (non-bar coded and bar coded). These slides can be used for all spotting systems, contact and contact free printing systems. In combination with the right solutions and buffers, the production of DNA microarrays is a quick and easy task.
